Thanks to the many folks working over the weekend, the Banner Finance/HR remediation has been successfully completed.

Two A/P check runs, vendor creates and multiple requisitions and invoices have processed successfully without incident.

Just a couple of statistics for those who like them;

  • 192,438 records in Banner Finance/HR were converted from using their TAX ID to a new "9" number
  • It took approximately 16 minutes to assign the new number (but many additional hours to fully incorporate the data into the environment)
  • 101,878 of these records were new to the UNH IDM database and were passed through the database for verification
  • It took approximately 21 hours for the IDM system to review all 100,000 records from the conversion

  • SSN Remedication down time as of 3 PM Friday, October 16th

USNH Banner Finance/HR will discontinue use of the Tax ID as a primary identifier as of next monday, October 19th, 2009.

To enable this to occur, the Banner Finance/HR production system will be unavailable to users as of 3 PM on friday, October 16th, 2009.

The existing data in the production environment will be converted to use the new USNH ID numbers. This will take several hours. In addition, processes and programs to support this functionality will be migrated to the production environment.

The system will be returned to the users for normal work hours by Monday morning, October 19th, 2009 with all USNH IDs converted to the new "9" numbers.

  • FY 2009 Annual Financial Report Online

An online version of the FY 2009 Annual Financial Report is now available online for your review. This includes USNH Audit financial statements with comments and highlights from the fiscal year.

  • SSN Remediation in Banner Finance

As most of you are aware, USNH has been working to remove the SSN/Tax ID from use as the primary identifier within the USNH Banner Finance/HR environment. This has been a process under review since January 2009 and in implementation since June 2009. The date this will be a reality is a few short weeks away October 19th, 2009.

Banner Finance users are very fortunate that this change has only a slight impact on our day to day processing. All transactions that are in process will continue with no additional work required by our users and there are no additional steps required to complete new transactions. The most significant impact will be the ID, now to be called the USNH ID, that will display on all documents, will be a new randomly generated number that begins with a "9".

As we near the implementation date, it is important that you are aware of some very small changes that will take place. These changes are outlined in detail in a document located on the Banner Finance FYI page and linked here.
